harmony between scientific and spiritual world views

1. Yes, I do believe that there can be harmony; I can understand and accept a scientific viewpoint without having to disregard a spiritual stance. I once held a strong spiritual viewpoint of my world but then I decided to allowed myself to experience the world from a natural, or scientific viewpoint, without the restraints of any religious or spiritual input. Somewhat to my surprise, I found that life could be lived happily and well without dogmas. I learnt to rely on my inner strength and resilience. This was very freeing. In saying this, I have very fond memories of praying, meditating and singing songs of praise. With the exception of a few ideas (sainthood for one) I do not feel disdain for the teachings of my past. I believe that I'm in harmony with myself and my philosophy of life.

2. The moral law, I believe, is not a worldview. I'm pleased that I was taught the ten commandments leading me and have a good sense of how to treat and respect others. There seems to be many versions of the 'moral law'. It would be interesting to have an in-depth discussion re this topic.

I'm half way through the book and still have much to ponder and research.
